Consistent Color Schemes and Professional Logo’s

Using an appropriate color scheme is crucial when it comes to branding. It is the first impression people get when they see you or your company on the web. Choosing a proper color scheme is not very difficult because we all know what looks good and what doesn’t. Let us put it this way – you don’t want to have blue, purple, orange, green and red all in the same color scheme because that would look ridiculous. Keep the colors to a maximum of 3 and make sure they compliment each other. Imagine if McDonald’s had a bright pink background with their golden arches – that would look horrible! Make sure you pick colors that are pleasing to the eye and professional. Blue and Green has seemed to grow in popularity over the past few years partly because of the environmental movement. Also, you want to associate your colors with the feelings your company wants to portray. Take a look at what feelings or meanings are attached to each color:

Red = Love, Strength, Leadership

Orange = Comfort, Confidence, Courage

Yellow = Curiosity, Brightness, Amusement

Green = Harmony, Nature, Healing

Blue = Patience,  Peace, Tranquility, Trustworthiness

Purple = Wisdom, Nobility, Royalty

Brown = Earthiness, Durability, Primitive

Black = Elegance,  Power, Formality

White = Goodness,  Simplicity, Fresh

Once you have decided on which colors to use then it’s time to make a logo. Your logo should include the colors you have chosen which will be consistently used across all platforms. Now when it comes to logos, we would highly suggest hiring a professional to make them. There’s nothing worse than having a poor looking logo because when people think of your company they will think of that logo. The logo is the brand of your company and people will remember. That’s why it is crucial to have a powerful logo that accurately portrays your companies business.

Make sure the logo designer includes the proper colors and some sort of iconic figure that relates to your business. For example a trucking company would have an icon of a truck incorporated into their logo. Another example is MIB’s logo – we have the dotted “I” with swoosh graphics around it symbolizing creating a brand with you at the center and having people surround you (the same way electrons surround the nucleus in an atom). If thought out properly – people will see your business just from the logo either consciously or sub-consciously. Well that’s it for this article – We hope you enjoyed it and don’t feel shy to leave a comment for discussion.
